Important Announcement

Hello there, 

For those of you that have used ‘Theo’ recently you will know that her interior has become pretty tired of late. Fortunately most of our users be they youth groups or adults are flexible enough to recognise the imperfections as not life threatening and go on to have an enjoyable and cost effective trip.

Following a review of the works required on “Theo” the management committee have taken the decision to mothball it for 14 months starting at the end of October this year. During 2011 we will of course try to accommodate all of our users on our other boat ‘Merlin’.

We have set ourselves an ambitious target; by December 2011 we need to have raised at least 50% of the cost of a complete refit which we estimate to be in the region of £30,000. Failure to achieve this will result in the boat being sold.

Starting on January 1st 2011 we will be launching our appeal to raise these funds. There will be three parts to this appeal – Applications to grant making trusts – Specific events to raise funds and market the project – Direct appeals to companies for items such as Kitchen and bathroom equipment etc.

Whilst we have a management committee and supporters (the council) who are wholly supportive of this project we need to press every button possible if we are to achieve our aim, particularly recognising the current situation with the economy.  My phone number is 0787 584 1423 and the email address is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
