Adult Breaks

Many people believe that Community Boat Projects only carry young people, scout groups , schools , youth clubs and the like. We do indeed have a fair share of these of groups but are finding that many other groups are now contacting us. One of our largest adult users are families with children, particularly with the current recession. They want a boat fully fitted, with basic though comfortable accomodation so all they have to bring is their sleeping bags. Sure if you want a floating extension of your sitting room then you could pay a lot more and find such a company. But if it's the desire to get away from it all, explore some waterside pubs, maybe do some fishing and canoeing with the kids or grab a map and take the family on a ramble finishing with a barbque on the towpath, then you will find our boats ideal.

Although we do supply skippers we recognise that users like to get away on their own. Our boats are 70' in length and can be challanging to handle. We want you to enjoy your break without incident or accident and therfore offer to potential hirers the Royal Yachting association Inland Helmsman's one day course. All of our previous users have commented on how useful this has been to them , and it is a nationally recognised qualification.

Please browse the picturers and comments of past users and compare our prices to that of commercial hire companies. We are a charity and our aim be it community groups, those taking adult breaks or families on holiday is to enable users to experience the magic of the inland waterways at the lowest possible cost.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard 'Theo' and 'Merlin'
